Clarke Quay Reverse Bungee

The ticketing machine is too small and simple haha |
The G Max Reverse Bungee with 5 vertical structure stood upwards, is one
of the visual attractions in Clarke Quay. It also gave the area a sense
of identity as people easily associate reverse bungee with clarke quay,
the sense of identity is something I would like to establish in my
design .The approach to the ticketing and the play is very direct and are located beside one another so for my p1, i would need to keep my ticketing and the play near each other since i have two type of play elements in my design. However, the area for this site is much smaller than Youth Park so more play can be added in my design.

Easy access to the bungee |
Another thing I realised is the safety of the play surrounding. There isn't much of a barrier or fence from the play to walkways. People are able to gain easily access to the play and plants were used to direct the users to the bungee.

Seats of the reverse bungee |
The last picture caught my interest to know that a bus stop in located directly behind the bungee. The used of plant screening prevent people from entering the premise yet allowing them to get a good view of the fun!
Trampoline Park
|
Foam pit |
Basically, the trampoline park is surrounded by netting as a blockage. The trampoline park is divided into two parts, one is the main jumping site and another is the Foam pit. I personally did not feel the 'play and fun' atmosphere when i was at the site. Maybe was due to the limitation of play elements and the colour of the site. As such, i would like maybe add a few play elements such as large bouncing balls or enable the play of dodge ball with the trampline and make my p1 trampoline park filled with coloured balls instead of foam pits because I like the rainbow colours and the smoothness of the balls so that there is less friction when users jump into the ball pit.
Good! You did not take a ride on the reverse bungee? hahaha
ReplyDeleteGood reflection that the Reverse Bungee is now slowly becoming one of the landmark at the Clark Quay area since I think it is quite iconic and the only one in Singapore. Try to incorporate what you have learnt and experienced into the P1 design to make it better. - Ron
