 Went to Sentosa.

MegaZip @ Sentosa.

Safety harness!

High rope course.

Trying outttttt ClimbMax! (Was raining tho'..)

(yes, he's using phone.... -,-)

ParaJump!

Zipline!

Before we get to play, we are weighed and placed in harness at the ticketing booth. Then we hopped onto buggy to get to MegaZip tower.

ClimbMax:

  • There are 3 different levels; each level with 12 obstacles.
    • Level 1 - 5m off ground.
    • Level 2 - 10m off ground.
    • Level 3 - 15m off ground.
  • "There's no returning when you got stuck in the middle of the level" – according to the instructor... (I think he was trying to scare me???)
  • However, when I looked around, there really isn't any "express" way to get back. It's either you finish the rest of the obstacles or you'll have to go back via the way you came. (That's really bad, especially when people really "chicken out" at certain obstacles.)
MegaZip:
  • There are 3 cables enabling 3 people to ride alongside you.
  • Each cable allows 2 people to ride together; as long as both are weighed under 130kg.
  • The ride lasts approximately 50 seconds.
  • The heavier person will get zipped down faster!!
  • As we zipped, we get to see the overview of Siloso beach; absolutely breathtaking!
  • It's close to 500m in length and suspended ~80m above the ground.
  • You are propelled on approximately 30 degree decent down over treetops and Siloso beach.
  • The ride concludes with us coming to rest in a large and secure netted area where you are 'de-cabled'.

ParaJump:
  • Replicate the feeling of a freefall parachute jump from 16m off ground.
  • Custom made safety wire and harness developed in the UK.
  • The whole process is very fast.
  • It feels like jumping off building tho'.... ;-)
  • I think that 16m off ground is still not exciting enough! I think it should be ~30m off ground!! ;-)

NorthFace (Didn't get to try this, too broke, $$$$$):
  • A 16m rock climbing wall with 3 different routes to the top.

1:100 MODEL

  1. Great! Think you guys had fun. What about your in-depth reflections and how you think you can use this experience to improve your current P1 design? Are there supporting facilities such as ticketing booths, offices, washrooms etc. that supports the operation of the venue? - Ron

  2. 1. Good that you are looking at the detailed obstacles that can go into the high ropes course. In addition to models, use sketches to show how youths can use the obstacles.
    2. Remember that you can design the obstacles too according to your design ideation and to better fit the site. They should not look like those in Sentosa or something that you can order from a catalogue.
    3. What happens on the ground? You are to design that too.
